Description

SK 38/3925 PARISH OF MELBOURNE CHURCH CLOSE 6/87 (East Side) Icehouse to SE of Four Seasons Vase in Melbourne Hall Gardens GV II Icehouse. Late C18 with later repairs. Brick. Semi-circular brick facade with plank door below stone lintel. Interior has steps down to domed well. A later addition to the early C18 garden designed by Royal Gardeners to Queen Anne, London and Wise, for Thomas Coke of Melbourne Hall. Included in the Derbyshire Historic Gardens Register at Grade I. See item 6/63 for sources.
