Description

This ice house, located about 200 metres south of Malvern Hall, dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of brick. It has an egg-shaped design, measuring 15 feet across and 22 feet tall. The structure features a short passage that is 4 feet wide, which has a right angle bend and leads to the upper part of the chamber. The ice house is sunken underground, and the earth mound above it has eroded, revealing the domed top of the structure. It is situated within the park of Malvern Hall, which was built around 1690 and remodelled and extended in 1784 by the architect John Soane.
