Description
Derby House is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of orange brick and features a plain tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a dentil eaves cornice and stands three storeys tall, with a two-storey outshut at the rear. The north elevation is symmetrical with three bays. The central entrance has a moulded doorcase with a bracketed hood, and the raised and fielded panelled door is topped by a segment-headed rectangular overlight. On either side of the door are glazing bar sash windows beneath wedge brick lintels. Above, there are three similar sash windows, and three smaller sash windows above those. Inside, the house includes a closed string staircase with stick balusters, a ramped handrail, and a clustered newel.
