Description
The building is a sawmill located to the west of Ogston Hall, now used as stables and a garage. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone significant alterations in the 19th century. The structure is made of coursed sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings. It features a 20th-century concrete tile roof with a stone ridge, and has moulded stone copings on the gables along with inverted moulded kneelers. The building is two storeys high and consists of six bays.
On the west elevation, there are three segmental arched doorcases with flush quoined sides; the southern doorcase is partly blocked and has a 19th-century window. There are four small rectangular openings with plank doors on the sides. Above these, there are three similar openings and a large inserted door to the north. This building is included in the listing for its group value.
