Description
Trinity Chapel is a 16th-century chapel located on the west side of Carr Lane in the parish of Brackenfield. The remains of the chapel are constructed from massive sandstone ashlar, with sandstone dressings and quoins. The building is roofless and features twin semi-circular arches on the west gable that support a bellcote, along with a stone cross on the east gable. The gables are finished with lapped stone copes.
This single-cell structure includes a south porch and has a blocked, chamfered 2-light mullion window on the west wall, as well as a similar window on the north wall. The east wall has a central 4-light chamfered mullion window, while the south wall features a 3-light chamfered mullion window and another blocked 2-light window, with the south porch located to the west. Inside the porch, there are stone seats on either side, and the inner doorcase is flat-headed and chamfered. Beyond the porch to the west, there is a blocked single light window. The interior is mostly bare, except for a rectangular niche located to the north of the east window.
