Description

Rivenendell Farmhouse and Attached Cottage dates to the 17th and 18th centuries. The farmhouse is built of coursed rubble gritstone with a stone slate roof, featuring a stone gable end stack and a ridge stack. The south elevation has a regular arrangement of windows: a 2-light mullion window, a 3-light mullion window, a blocked doorway, two more 3-light windows, a doorway with a glazed door, and a final 3-light window. Five 2-light windows are on the first floor. All windows were renewed in 1982, replicating the original designs with glazing bar sashes and small fixed panes. The interior includes timber frame partitions with plaster infill and numerous beams with roll mouldings and curved stops.
