Description

Broadbottom Bridge is a road bridge that is believed to date from 1683, according to Pevsner. It features irregular squared rubble with dressed stone parapets. The bridge has one large pointed arch span that is double-recessed. The parapet walls have chamfered coping stones and were originally hump-backed like the road, although both are now flat. This bridge is notable for its particularly wide span if the date is accurate.
