Description
Harewood Lodge is a house dating from the early 19th century. Built of ashlar stone, with watershot stone at the rear, it has a slate roof. The house is of a double-depth, central-staircase plan, with small symmetrical wings extending to either side and a wing to the rear. A projecting plinth is present, along with a modillion eaves cornice and a blocking course, topped by a hipped roof punctuated by two ashlar stacks. The central three bays are slightly advanced and feature a modillioned pediment. The front door has an overlight and a Tuscan canopy supported by columns. The ground floor has four windows, and the first floor five, all with sash windows (without glazing bars). A continuous sill band runs along the first floor, and the window above the front door is distinguished by a moulded surround with a cornice. Many of the rear windows retain their original glazing bars. The interior is currently derelict and disused.
