Description
Clough End Farmhouse and Cottage is a house and cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed rubble and hammer-dressed stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof and features brick chimney stacks. It has two storeys and two bays, with a rear outshut, a two-storey extension, and lean-to extensions at each end. The centrally placed doors have square-cut surrounds. The windows are flat-faced stone mullions, with two, three, or four lights; the windows on the right have had a mullion removed. The rear extension includes stone quoins. Inside, there are deep ceiling beams and a post with stepped stops, along with box-framed dividing walls.
