Description

St Mary's Church War Memorial is situated in the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin Church, facing Dale Road. It features a limestone canopied crucifix atop a tapered chamfered square pillar, which rises from a square chamfered stone plinth. The base and plinth are constructed from a reinforced concrete base, with coursed ashlar and rubble stone limestone.

The inscriptions on the plinth honor the men of Buxton who lost their lives during the First World War. The front face of the memorial reads 1914 – 1918/ OUR GLORIOUS DEAD/ R.I.P.
