Description
Green Moor is a house dating to 1897 and 1898, designed by Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. It is constructed of rock-faced millstone grit with ashlar dressings, timber framing and plaster, tile hanging, and has a plain tile roof, featuring two tall brick stacks. The architectural style is Vernacular Revival. The house is arranged as an L-plan.
The south front has three windows on the ground floor. A square porch has been added to the left, followed by two two-light mullion windows, then a three-light window, and a canted corner window. Above are three canted wooden oriel windows, the central one with side lights. A large gabled dormer window with a four-light wooden oriel is positioned above. The east front incorporates canted bay windows at each end, with two small casements set back between. The upper floor has wooden canted bays at each end, joined by a balcony with turned wooden columns. A raking dormer window, divided by a tall brick stack, sits above. The north entrance front features a projecting wing to the left with a mullion window and a canted corner bay, above which are two canted oriel windows, and above again a four-light wooden oriel. The right return has a two-light mullion window, and a two-storey porch in the re-entrant angle, with a stone base and three-light casements on each face above. To the right is a four-light mullion window on the ground floor, and a canted wooden oriel above, with a further five-light dormer window with a single light set at a right angle above. The west front has a tall external chimney stack, with gable coping and large-scale kneelers. Mullion windows are present on the ground floor, and wooden casements above. All windows feature leaded casements. The interior has not been inspected.
