Description

This is a house located in Buxton, built around 1800 and altered in the late 19th century and extended in the 20th century. It is constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof with stone stacks. Bracketed eaves and coped gables with kneelers are notable exterior features.

The front elevation has three storeys and three windows. The central door has part-glazed double panel doors and an overlight, set within a moulded ashlar surround, with further detailing in the form of brackets and hood. To the right is a 2/2 sash window with a similar surround and hood, which acts as the sill for the window above. To the left is a two-storey canted ashlar bay window with 2/2 and plain sashes. Above, three smaller 2/2 sashes are set in plain ashlar surrounds, with sunken side panels.

The right return features similar fenestration, including two two-storey canted ashlar bay windows with sashes, and an attic window to the right. A two-storey extension to the rear includes a projecting open porch. The interior of the house was not inspected during the listing process.
