Description
Ollerenshaw Hall is a house, now converted into three dwellings, dating from around 1800, with an addition from 1840. It is constructed of gritstone ashlar with projecting quoins and features identically moulded gritstone architraves on all openings. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with some leaded ridges. There are six stone ridge and gable end stacks, which have moulded fillets and cornices, and segmental tops. The eaves cornice is also moulded.
On the south elevation, to the east, is the original double fronted house, which has a doorcase with a moulded architrave and double glazed doors. To the east is a large tripartite window with central and margin glazing bar sashes, while to the west is a glazing bar sash window, both with moulded architraves. The 1840 addition to the west has a five-window elevation, with two central bays recessed. The central section features a similar tripartite window with glazing bar sashes to the east, and to the west are double glazed doors and an inserted glazing bar sash without an architrave. The western section has three glazing bar sashes below, and above, there are eight glazing bar sashes with a continuous plain sill band. The window above the eastern door is slightly narrower than the others. A datestone on the rear of the central section is inscribed '1840'.
Inside the earlier part of the house, there is a fine twisted baluster dogleg staircase with panelling underneath. The doors and undersides of the arches all feature beaded panelling.
