Description
The Kiln of Former Peak Pottery is a disused bottle kiln from 1922, now incorporated into a house and craft centre. It is constructed of red brick, with only the outer skin remaining. The lower third of the kiln is vertical and features seven round arched entrances, a round arched opening, and three small square openings. Above these, there is a row of socket holes and five metal straps. The upper section curves inward and ends with a decorative brick band that has inset squares, topped with a moulded edge. This kiln is the last remaining of a pair built for the Peak Pottery, located on the site of an earlier brickworks. The attached house and craft centre are not of special interest.
