Description
The Green Cottage is a house that originated in the 17th century and was remodeled in the 18th century. It has recently been renovated and is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with quoins, featuring gritstone flush dressings. The roof is made of stone slate and has stone copings and moulded kneelers, along with two brick gable end stacks.
The building has three storeys and a two-bay front. There is a former doorcase on the south side that has been filled with an uneven glazing bar sash. A central doorcase has an early 19th-century glazed door that was inserted into what used to be a window opening. To the north, there is a 2-light mullioned window, with two similar windows above it and another pair at the eaves. Additionally, there is a single-storey projection to the south, and the southern gable features a blocked 17th-century 2-light mullioned window.
