Description
The Mill at Trent Trout Farm is a building that dates from the early 18th century and is now used as a store and hatchery. It is constructed of red brick and sandstone, featuring plain tile roofs with stone-coped gables and moulded kneelers. The mill stands two to three storeys high, with a four-bay brick south elevation, where the left side is taller with three bays. The ground floor has three windows with ashlar surrounds and small pane fixed lights. Above, there are two similar windows on either side of a doorway that has a segmental arch and a half-glazed door. The lower bay on the right includes a ground floor doorway with a stone lintel and jambs, along with a window above that also has an ashlar surround and small pane fixed lights. The rear elevation is made of coursed squared sandstone and features a low brick building that houses the overshot water wheel, which is driven by a culverted water supply from the west.
