Description
Old Rectory Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof, featuring brick gable stacks and a ridge stack. The building has a sawtooth eaves cornice and is designed in an L-plan. It stands three storeys tall, with the rear part being two storeys. The east elevation is symmetrical with three bays, featuring a central doorway with a wedge brick lintel. This doorway has a 19th-century half-glazed door, flanked by 3-light casement windows, also under wedge brick lintels. The first floor has a similar arrangement, with a 2-light window in the center and 3-light windows on either side. Above, there are three smaller windows that match the others. The rear elevation includes a full-height staircase window. Inside, there is a stick baluster staircase with carved tread ends and a wreathed and ramped handrail, along with a newel post that has a stepped profile. The staircase details are identical to those found at Old Beeches and Church Farmhouse.
