Description

The conduit located at the rear of numbers 3-13 Cromford Hill is likely from the 1780s and was part of Richard Arkwright's development in Cromford. It features dressed stone sides and a cutwater, with channels that are set well below ground level. The structure is supported by tall, roughly coursed rubble retaining walls and includes a sluice at one end. This conduit marks the convergence of two streams.
