Description
The Greyhound Hotel is a mid-18th century building located at 1390 Market Place in Cromford. It is constructed of ashlar with painted stone dressings and stands three storeys high, featuring three bays with the central bay slightly advanced. The facade includes five sash windows set in plain architraves with keyblocks, while the central windows are highlighted by moulded architraves. The entrance is marked by a stuccoed Roman Doric doorcase that includes a fanlight, triglyphs in the frieze, and a dentilled pediment. The building has quoins at all angles and moulded stone eaves, which support a central pediment that contains a clock face. The end gables are coped, and the roof is covered with slates.
