Description
The outbuilding of the rectory in Darley Dale dates back to the 17th century. It is a long, two-storey structure that now resembles a barn but shows signs of its former significance. The building is constructed from coursed stone rubble and features a 2-light mullioned window on the upper level, with a defaced moulded window reveal below. There is a modern or restored chamfered square-headed doorway, and the gabled ends are plain. The roof is covered with modern tiles. Notably, there are three enriched inscribed stone panels from the 17th century set high in the right-hand gabled end.
