Description

Darley Dale Station, built around 1849, is a single-storey structure made of coursed stone rubble with ashlar dressings. It features two 3-light mullioned windows and two arched doorways, all adorned with hood moulds that run as bands across the façade. The building has two slightly advanced gabled bays, each with a tall 3-light mullioned window that includes arched lights and hood moulds. The eaves are dentilled, and the end gables have moulded copings and kneelers, topped with ball-head finials. It also has stone stacks and a slate roof. The station is no longer in use and is part of a group that includes the building on the north platform and the Station Houses.
