Description

The High Tor Hotel is an early 19th century building constructed in a "cottage orne" style. It is stuccoed and has two storeys and three windows, featuring cast iron "Gothic" glazing bars in chamfered surrounds of painted stone. Three gables are present above, with the central gable being the largest. There is a plain doorway with a gabled rustic porch. Other details include bold eaves, gabled verges, ornamental bargeboards to all gables, and clustered stone stacks set diagonally. The roof is slate-covered. A recessed wing on the right-hand side has a similar treatment and two sash windows, lacking glazing bars.
