Description

These are two 19th-century buildings on the west side of the Market Place, likely built in 1839, though incorporating earlier fabric. The buildings are constructed of red brick. The upper facade is relatively plain, featuring four sash windows with simple lintels. The 19th-century shop fronts have been altered; a bow window in the centre retains some original early 19th-century character and is topped with a cornice and cast iron brattishing, including tiles. Inside the lower storey, there is an enriched and quarried plaster ceiling, divided into three panels (with a fourth panel removed), decorated with a Tudor Rose and other emblems. Nos 4 to 13 and No 15 in the Market Place form a cohesive architectural group.
