Description
The cartshed at Home Farm is a disused structure dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is built from coursed squared gritstone with sawn gritstone dressing and quoins, topped with a graduated slate roof featuring a stone ridge. The building has stone copings and kneelers, along with a chamfered eaves band. It is two storeys high with four bays, forming a rectangular shape.
On the north side, there is a semi-circular headed arch with a keystone that extends through both storeys. The south side features three semi-circular headed arches with keystones, which rise from square piers with imposts. These arches are partly blocked by later sheds. Above these arches, there are three semi-circular openings with projecting keystones, although these openings have been blocked with rendered brick and previously contained rectangular vented windows. In the top corner on the south side, there are two iron scroll retaining ties.
