Description

Park Hall is a building generally dating from the 17th century, although some features suggest work from the 16th century. The entrance has a reset panel above it inscribed with "1661 A P I F I". The structure is built of coursed rubble with quoins. The main southern facade has two storeys, while the eastern projecting gabled wing rises to three storeys. It features a stone slate roof with a coped gable and diagonal chimney stacks that are likely rebuilt. There is a blocked window on each floor at the angle between the gabled wing and the rest of the building. The facade includes three stone mullion windows, with those in the gabled wing and all ground floor windows having dripstone moulds. The windows are of two, three, and four lights, with casements that have glazing bars and shallow arches on the top lights. The former off-centre door has a cambered head but now features modern glazing. There is one slope top dormer and a one-storey western outshut that contains the entrance. The rear gable appears to be of earlier construction. Inside, there are some plaster moulded ceilings decorated with roses, oak leaves, acorns, and blackberries, possibly dating from the 16th century, along with a fireplace and several six-panelled doors.
