Description
Somersall Hall is a building dating from 1763, with part of a 17th-century old hall attached to the rear. It is constructed from stone rubble and features coped gable ends and a stone slate roof. The eastern facade has three storeys and three windows, which have plain stone architraves. Most of the windows are sashes with glazing bars, except for a 19th-century canted bay window on the southern ground floor. The central door is topped with a glazed ornamental fanlight and is framed by a Gothic porch with clustered stone columns, an ornamental entablature, and battlements. There is an early 19th-century two-storey extension to the north, which has two sashes with plain stone architraves. The rear elevation includes plain stone mullioned windows, and the 17th-century wing at the back is one and a half storeys high with two stone mullioned, three-light windows.
