Description
The former Creswell Church of England Secondary School, now used as industrial premises, was built in 1901. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone dressings and quoins, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is single storey and features a north elevation with a layout of 1-11-1 bays. The gabled end bays are designed as open dentil pediments, each adorned with a 4-light window that has a moulded stone architrave. The two central lights of these windows are slightly taller and feature keyed round arches, one of which is blind while the other includes a fanlight. The right-hand window is also taller. The central section of the building consists of nine rectangular windows, each with moulded stone architraves and glazing bar sashes, complemented by fixed lights above. This central range is flanked by two-storey porches made of ashlar, which are open on the ground floor and supported by two Tuscan Doric columns. Above the porches are three-light square section mullion windows, and the rounded gables are topped with moulded copings, which are interrupted in the middle by moulded finials.
