Description
Hillside Cottage is a cottage that was formerly two cottages, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of dressed coursed rubble with a pantile roof and features two dressed coursed rubble gable stacks on the left side. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a lower two-storey, two-bay wing to the right that has stone quoins.
The main entrance is a doorway with a wooden door set under a segmental arch. To the left of the doorway is a single casement window, while to the right is a larger casement window, both of which have lintels. Further to the right, there are two Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars of different sizes, also under segmental arches. On the upper floor, there are two casement windows, along with a single Yorkshire sash window with one glazing bar to the right.
To the left, there is a single-storey, two-bay extension made of red brick and slate, which includes a doorway with a wooden door and a glazing bar casement window to the left. Set back to the right is a single bay of the rear two-storey wing, which is made of dressed coursed rubble, brick, and pantile, featuring a single red brick stack at the rear and a doorway with a wooden door and lintel.
