Description

The war memorial located on Derby Road in Milford commemorates those who fell in the 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 wars. It consists of two parts: a tall, tapering gritstone cross set on a stepped plinth at the southern point of the forked junction between Derby Road and Hopping Hill. The plinth features rural name tablets and is surrounded by a circular enclosure with a low stone kerb. To the north, there is a coped, rusticated stone wall along Derby Road and Hopping Hill. The central section of this wall is raised behind the cross and displays stone name panels.
