Description

The Church of the Holy Trinity is a Church of England building constructed in 1848, designed by architect William Bonython Moffat on land donated by Messrs Strutt. The church is built from coursed stone rubble and features a tiled roof, showcasing an Early English architectural style. It is aligned in a north-west to south-east direction and includes buttresses and a polygonal turret at the north-west end. This end features a central lancet and two pairs of side lancets, all with roundels above, set in ashlar masonry without surrounds. The nave contains four lancets, while there is a north aisle and a south porch. The lower chancel has both single and paired lancets, as well as a door. The east window is dedicated to George Herbert Strutt, who was born in Milford. A church room and vestry were added in 1910. The church is situated on an embanked churchyard that rises above Derby Road, forming a prominent feature in the area.
