Description
Dirty Lane End Cottage and the adjoining outbuilding to the north are a 17th-century cottage that was remodelled in the 19th century. The structure is made of coursed rubble gritstone with quoins, featuring plain gables, end brick ridge stacks, and a plain tiled roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays, with 19th-century casements in contemporary openings on the ground floor. Above these, there are casements set in 17th-century surrounds that were once part of recessed two-light chamfered mullioned windows. A 19th-century gabled stone porch is located at the centre of the cottage. The lower single bay outbuilding, attached at the north end, is also two storeys tall and has single light chamfered stone framed windows along with a stable door beneath a plain lintel.
