Description
Nos 18 and 19 on Golden Valley Road are a terrace of four cottages, now combined into two, dating from the early 19th century and restored around 1980. They are constructed of red brick with slate roofs, featuring stepped eaves bands and brick gable stacks, along with a large central ridge stack. The cottages are two storeys high, each with two bays. The south elevation of each cottage has two central plank doors flanked by 2-light casement windows, with two similar windows above. All openings are topped with cambered brick heads. These cottages are part of a group of housing for industrial workers built by the Butterley Company, located alongside the Cromford Canal.
