Description
This building consists of a barn and stables located 15 meters to the west of number 39 on Main Street in Caldecott. The barn is dated 1712, as indicated by tablets on its gables, and has been altered in the 20th century. The stable wing at the rear is from the early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed ironstone rubble, with a slate roof on the barn and a pantile roof on the stables. The barn features an altered roof-line, blocked vent slits, and a blocked cart entry at the center on the road side. It has gable windows, a door, and two skylights at the rear. The stable wing is lofted and consists of two bays, each with a square loft door above a boarded door, with one door on the left side being blocked. The lower doors have brick arches, and the interior provides stabling for four horses. This building is included for its group value.
