Description

CALDECOTT MAIN STREET SP 8693-8793 (South-east side) 11/20 Barn and stables 15 m to west of No 39. GV II

Barn and stables. Barn is dated MDCCXII on tablet in left gable and 1712 on tablet in right gable. Altered C20. Stable wing to rear is early C19. Coursed ironstone rubble, slate roof to barn, pantile roof to stables. Barn has altered roof-line, blocked vent slits and blocked cart entry to centre on road side. Gable windows; door and 2 skylights to rear. Stable wing is lofted and has 2 bays, each with square loft door over board door, one door on left side blocked. Lower doors have brick arches. Stabling for 4 horses inside. Included for group value.
