Description

This is a cottage dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, with a later plaque dated 1887 placed above the door. The walls are constructed from roughly-layered ironstone rubble, with quoins and two limestone bands. It has a thatched roof with a coped gable facing the lane, brick chimneys on both sides, and is 1 1/2 storeys high, with two bays. The windows are 19th-century wooden casements with small panes, each with a chamfered lintel. Upper windows have thatch eyebrows. A 20th-century half-glazed door sits within a 20th-century wooden surround, and is sheltered by a 20th-century glazed porch. A small, 20th-century rendered extension with a flat roof projects from the left bay. A gable end features a pair of casements, and a further small two-light window is located at the rear.
