Description
This outbuilding, located 15 meters to the west of Number 81 on Main Street in Lyddington, is likely a former granary with storage space below. It dates from around 1758 and has been altered over time. The structure is built from coursed ironstone rubble, with the gable closest to the house made of ashlar and featuring stone coping. The far gable has been rebuilt in 20th-century brick, and the roof is covered with corrugated iron.
The building consists of three bays. The front gable has a small window to the right, a two-light leaded window above it, and stone steps leading up to a loft door. The left side includes a doorway on the left, two low vehicle entries with modified wooden lintels on the right, and a central two-light shuttered opening for the loft. The right side features two windows on each floor and a blocked doorway with an Uppingham stone surround to the left. The lower range of outbuildings attached to the far gable is not considered of special interest.
