Description
The stable block at Ashwell House dates from around 1850. It is constructed from squared coursed rubble stone, featuring dressed stone banding, stone quoins, and stone dressings. The roof is made of Collyweston slate and has a rear stack. The building is 1½ storeys high and has two-light stone mullion windows with leaded lights. On the right gable, there are a pair of carriage doors set under a pointed segmental arch, with a window above. On the left, there is a similar single doorway with a window on either side. This stable block is included for its group value with Ashwell House.
