Description
No. 46 High Street West is a 17th-century house constructed of ironstone and topped with a thatched roof featuring a coped gable on the east side and a central stone stack with a 19th-century brick chimney. The building has two storeys and a two-window range. The central door is set within a deep chamfered architrave, and there is a blocked oval window above it, partially obscured by a thatched hood. To the right of the door, there is a blocked fire window also in a chamfered architrave. The house features three-light horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, with the ones to the right of the door set in a slight two-storey projection. The first-floor windows extend slightly through the eaves. At the rear, there is an extension painted white, which retains a 17th-century cornice over the ground floor window and was likely extended in brick during the 19th century.
