Description

Merion House is a house dating back to the 17th century, which was altered and raised in the 19th century. It is constructed of ironstone, with a Welsh slate roof, coped gables – the eastern gable is overlaid by an adjoining property – and brick end stacks. The house has three storeys and a double-fronted design with a two-window range. A central 19th-century door is set within a 17th-century moulded architrave, flanked by 18th-century canted bay windows. A moulded band from the 17th century survives on the left and right of these bays. The first and second floors contain 19th-century sash windows with cills. Four wall-tie ends are visible. Later extensions are present to the rear. The building is included on the list for its group value.
