Description

A pair of cottages located on High Street, Exton, dating from the 18th century or earlier. The cottages are constructed of sandstone rubble and have a thatched roof. They are 1½ storeys in height, with dormers. Number 9 appears to have originally been designed as a two-unit dwelling, with a slight step in the facade to the left of the doorway and quoins marking that corner. Number 7 is a single-unit cottage, with a later flat-roofed single-storey extension that connects it to the adjacent property at Number 5. The windows are casement windows with three panes, featuring heavy, roughly chamfered timber lintels. There are gabled and axial stacks, and the gable of Number 9 is formed from large, stepped stones.
