Description
Waggoners Cottage and Belmesthorpe House, along with a barn adjacent to the west, date from the 17th and 18th centuries. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble and feature roofs made of Collyweston stone slate. The house is 1½ storeys tall and has stone ridge and west end stacks.
On the left side of the house, there is a 2-light casement window with an overlight set beneath a timber lintel. Above this, a gabled dormer with decorative barge-boards can be seen. The house also features a two-storey, 5-light canted bay window with ovolo-moulded stone mullions and cornices, topped by a gable resting on decorative kneelers, which bears a datestone reading "B over RK 1693." A small window is located on the first floor. The entrance includes a 19th-century door beneath a timber lintel, accompanied by a 3-light casement window below another timber lintel, and a gabled dormer above.
To the east, the single-fronted cottage has a mansard roof with a brick end stack. It features a 19th-century door and a 3-light casement window beneath timber lintels on the ground floor, with a similar 3-light casement dormer above. The cottage also displays three wall-tie ends shaped like crosses. The barn to the west has two small blocked ventilation loops on its street-facing front.
