Description
Two houses, built around 1810 to 1814, are located on Standard Hill. They are constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings, and feature gabled and hipped slate roofs with a coped gable and two ridge stacks, along with a single side wall stack. The houses have a corner block arrangement, three and four storeys in height, with a two-window and a one-window frontage respectively. Number 1 has a central, round-arched doorcase with an ashlar surround, a fielded six-panel door, and a fanlight above. Above the door, there are eight-pane sashes on each floor, each with a wedge lintel and double keystone. The left return side has a moulded, round-arched doorcase to the left, and two boarded sixteen-pane sashes to the right, one with a shutter. Above these, the first and second floors have similar windows, while the third floor has twelve-pane sashes. All windows have wedge lintels with double keystones.
