Description
No. 3 St James' Terrace is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built around 1820 and underwent alterations in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick, featuring painted ashlar dressings and a slate roof with two reduced gable stacks. It has a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a renewed wooden modillion eaves cornice. The house is three storeys tall and has a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows, all of which have wedge lintels with double keystones. Above these, there are three 9-pane sash windows. The central entrance is framed by an ashlar doorcase with a round arch and keystone, leading to a moulded six-panel door and fanlight. On either side of the entrance, there are plain 19th-century sashes with beaded panelled shutters.
