Description
Castle House is a town house that has been converted into offices, with attached railings. It was built in the mid-18th century and has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building is constructed of red brick, featuring a rendered plinth, brick dressings, and a slate roof with a rendered gable stack. There are brick bands at each floor level. The structure has four storeys and a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows, while the third floor has smaller 16-pane sashes. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a 19th-century wooden doorcase with panelled pilasters and a flat hood on brackets, which frames a four-panel door with a glazing bar overlight. To the right of the door, there are two windows. The exterior also features wrought-iron garden railings on a rendered plinth with ashlar coping.
