Description
No. 4 St James' Terrace is a house, now used as offices, built around 1820 and altered in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and has a slate roof featuring two reduced gable stacks. The building has a rendered plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a renewed wooden modillion eaves cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows, all of which have wedge lintels with double keystones. Above these, there are three 9-pane sash windows. The central entrance features an ashlar doorcase with a round arch and keystone, along with a plate glass door and fanlight. On either side of the entrance, there are tripartite plain sashes.
