Description
Number 49 on St Mary's Gate is a pair of houses that have been converted into offices. They were built in the early 19th century and restored in the late 20th century. The buildings are made of red brick with a stone plinth, featuring a moulded wooden eaves cornice and a slate roof. The openings are topped with brick flat arches. The structure has three storeys and a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows, with three additional 9-pane sash windows above. There is a recessed central doorway that has a 6-panelled door and a glazing bar overlight. The right side of the building, facing Kayes Walk, has a similar front that is wider spaced.
