Description

This mid-19th century warehouse, now offices, was converted in the late 20th century and is attributed to TC Hine of Nottingham. The building is constructed of red brick with an ashlar ground floor and dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof concealed behind a blue brick coped parapet. It features a plinth, ground floor cornice, sill bands, eaves cornice, and rusticated quoins. The building is four storeys high, with a twelve-window range. The facade has a curved form following the street line and is almost symmetrical. Most windows are cast-iron glazing bar casements with moulded round heads. Ground floor windows have smaller panes and segmental heads with hood moulds. Basement windows also have cast-iron glazing bars. A projecting central entrance bay has a segment-arched doorway with renewed double doors. Above this doorway is a large round-arched cross casement, reglazed with stone mullions. Further above is a Venetian window and a round-arched casement. To the left is a narrow bay, and beyond that a range with two windows. To the left of this, a convex bay has single windows and a doorway. The right-hand convex bay has triple windows on each floor. To the far left is a single bay. To the right, a projecting triple bay is followed by a set-back single bay containing a door and fanlight.
