Description

Teespoint House is a warehouse, later converted into offices, built in the 1850s and 1860s. It was restored in 1885 following a fire, with work carried out by WA Heazell of Nottingham, for Jacoby & Co. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The basement is of rusticated ashlar, with sill bands, a tile-panelled frieze, a cornice, and a renewed brick coped parapet. It occupies a corner plot, with 8 windows across the front and 4 along the side. The windows are segment-arched sashes with projecting surrounds and keystones. The rounded corner bay has paired windows on each floor and two basement openings. The main front, facing Broadway, has a regular arrangement of windows and an off-centre entrance. The entrance has a moulded, segment-arched doorcase with a keystone, round-arched double doors with a fanlight, shafts, and enriched spandrels. There are seven blank basement openings with keystones to the front. The left return, facing Stoney Street, has four windows with regular fenestration, and the basement has three windows and a doorway to the left.
