Description
62 and 64 Castle Boulevard is a pair of houses, now used as offices, built around 1895 by Watson Fothergill of Nottingham. The buildings are constructed of red brick with blue brick dressings and feature plain tile roofs with a central valley stack. They have a plinth, string course, and sill band, along with gables that include bargeboards and finials. The windows are primarily original composite sashes, featuring glazing bar upper lights, wooden mullions, and transoms.
The structure is two storeys plus attics and has a T-plan layout with a four-window range. The street front showcases a central double-gabled projection, which includes canted bay windows with four lights under hipped roofs. Above these are three-light windows with moulded brick segmental arches, and further up are segment-arched two-light windows.
The set-back side bays contain an octagonal corner tower with two windows and a spire roof, as well as a corner opening supported by a lintel on brackets. Flanking this tower on the inner side is a door with an overlight, and above the door is a single window. The returns feature a gable with a projecting centre, with the left side showcasing a hipped bay window on the ground floor.
