Description

Number 84 is a solicitors' office built in 1910 by William Beedham Starr and EBH Hall of Nottingham for EH Frazer & Son. The building is designed in the Renaissance Revival style, constructed from ashlar with a slate roof and two coped side wall stacks. It features a plinth, a first floor sill band, a pulvinated frieze, and a dentillated cornice. The windows are leaded casements with ashlar mullions and transoms, and the building has two storeys with a four-window range.

On each side, there is a two-storey bow window with four lights, and the ground floor windows are cross mullioned. Above these, a shouldered coped gable contains a cartouche. The central entrance features an ashlar doorcase with panelled pilasters and a segmental pediment, framing a cartouche displaying the number 84. There are panelled double doors, and to the right, a cross mullioned window with four lights. Above this, there are three two-light windows divided by Ionic columns and raised panels with keyblocks.

In front of the building, there is an ornamented wrought-iron railing that runs the full width of the façade, set on a moulded ashlar plinth, with central double gates and openwork piers.
