Description

Chartwell House comprises two late 18th-century town houses, now used as offices and converted in the late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick with stucco dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof. They feature a plinth, a band at sill level, and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The arrangement is over three storeys, with a seven-window front. The windows are largely renewed sash windows with glazing bars, set within brick flat arches. The ground floor and first floor windows have 12 panes, while the second floor windows have 9 panes. The main entrance is a single-panelled door with an overlight, positioned between two windows to the left and four windows to the right. The rear elevation has a central projection topped with a pediment which contains a round window.
